Terms of Service
Last updated: 1 August 2026
1. Agreement
By installing, accessing or using Shopbook POS you agree to these Terms of Service. If you are accepting on behalf of a business, you confirm you are authorised to bind that business.
2. Licence
We grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use Shopbook POS for your own business operations for the duration of a paid subscription or active trial.
You may not resell, sublicense, reverse engineer, or remove branding from the software, or use it to build a competing product.
3. Subscription billing
Plans are billed in Sri Lankan Rupees: Rs. 3,500 per month, Rs. 10,000 per three months, or Rs. 36,000 per year. Prices exclude any government taxes that may apply.
Payment is made in advance for your selected billing cycle. Subscriptions do not auto-renew by card. We send a renewal reminder 7 days before expiry. If a subscription lapses, the app enters read-only mode — your local data remains intact and syncs once you renew.
4. Free trial
New merchants receive a 14-day full-feature trial. We may limit one trial per business.
5. Refund policy
If Shopbook POS does not work for your shop, request a refund within 7 days of your first paid invoice for a full refund of that invoice.
Annual plans cancelled after the first 7 days may receive a pro-rated refund of unused full months, less any onboarding services already delivered. Renewal invoices paid in error are refunded in full if reported within 14 days.
6. Service level (SLA)
We target 99.9% monthly availability of cloud backup and dashboard services. Because Shopbook POS is offline-first, billing, printing and scanning continue on your devices even during any connectivity outage.
If verified cloud availability falls below 99.5% in a calendar month, you may claim a service credit of 10% of that month's fee; below 99.0%, 25%. Claims must be made within 30 days.
Support response targets: WhatsApp priority plans within 2 working hours, standard plans within 1 working day.
7. Your responsibilities
You are responsible for the accuracy of the data you enter, for keeping staff PINs confidential, for compliance with tax and consumer laws applicable to your business, and for maintaining compatible hardware.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability for any claim is limited to the subscription fees you paid in the 12 months preceding the claim. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, including lost profits.
9. Termination
You may cancel at any time; the subscription runs to the end of the paid term. We may suspend accounts for non-payment, abuse, or unlawful use, after notice where practicable.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Sri Lanka, and the courts of Colombo have exclusive jurisdiction.
